Cross Your Fingers For Me!

I just sent a short story:

The Applicant (or Virgins, Robot Bears and Other Disasters)

off to a publisher.  This is the first time I’ve actually sent fiction to a publisher since college.  I need all the luck and good wishes I can get.

I have to say, that it’s soooo much easier to submit these days.  I remember having to type up my story (in the time before computer word processing) and then mail it with a self-addressed stamped envelope, waiting days and sometimes weeks for an acknowledgement that my story had arrived via the postal service.

Now I simply format, attach to an email and push send.  In fact, I’ve already gotten an acknowledgement that my submission has arrived and that it will be read by the editor once the submission deadline has been reached.  Wow.
